18th C Soapstone Sander
18th C Soapstone Sander
$95.00Price
This is a very early soapstone sander. The color is lighter than most soapstone, but can be found in New England.
It has 13 holes in the top for the sand and the top is slightly concave to diminish spilling.
Well used with old indentations around the top and bottom. I have displayed it as an inkwell, although it is really a sander.
2 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Found in New Hampshire and dating from the late 1700s to early 1800s.
