19th C Aqua Glass Inkwell in Treen Case

  • This little aqua glass inkwell is set into a wide base wood case with a lift off lid, great patina.

    The lid secures the bottle which can be removed easily.

    Old ink spots. Cork as found, appears to be original.

    Bottle is marked "Higgins Inks N Y".  Higgins Ink bottles were made in Brooklyn NY from about 1880.

    Very unusual and unique design, excellent antique condition.

    4 3/4" in diameter, 2 3/4" tall.

    Found in Massachusetts and dating from the late 1800s.
