  • Rare hallmarked tin chamber stick, beautifully made.

    Pusher in clam shell design works well.

    The witch's hat snuffer has a ball finial and a hook which attaches to the side of the shaft.  Both it and the carrying ring have a hole which had a chain attaching the two so that they did not get separated when in use, (chain missing).

    Rectangular in shape, unusually deep dish.

    It has an applied hallmark on the back.  It is the seal of J. H. Hopkins & Sons, Birmingham,( England), ca 1850.   Many lighting devices were imported from England in the 1700s and 1800s.
