19th C Tin Pie Plate Candle Sconce

19th C Tin Pie Plate Candle Sconce

  • The shield on this sconce is indented with parallel lines, smooth in the center.

A crimped drip pan with a candle socket sits on an arm which extends outward from the bottom of the shield.

A hole in the arm and one in the drip pan indicate that it may have been electrified at one time.

The support on the arm appears to be original

Lovely bluish gray patina, with some surface rust.

    8 1/2" wide.

Found in Massachusetts and dating from the late 1800s.
