This is an early, small whirling toaster for the hearth.
Toast was put into the double rack on the top. The whole rack swirls on the base so that the toast will be even.
It stands on 3 feet, each with a curl.
It's handle is bent upward and has a hanging hole at the end so that it cold be stored on a hook near the hearth.
NIce small size: 15 1/2 long, 11 1/2" wide, 6 1/4" tall.
Found in New Hampshire and dating from the late 1700s to early 1800s.
