Pair, 19th C Beveled Glass Oil Lanterns

Pair, 19th C Beveled Glass Oil Lanterns

  • Really beautifully made, this is an exact pair.

Each has 3 panels of beveled glass - all original.

The door is solid metal, and closes with a pin latch - the pin hangs from a chain, and can also act as a wick pick.

The oil burners, which have their original wicks, slide out and are held by a spring loaded mechanism - very clever.

Domed top under a square lid with a handle.  There is a screen under the dome to trap flames.

They are quite heavy.  Each is 9 3/4" to the top of the handle, 5 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Found in New Hampshire and dating from the late 1800s.
