This is a very interesting marking sampler sewn by Ann Lang, age 11, in 1824.

She stitches her numbers and letters at the top and adds a heart at the end.  Then she stitches "L.S. Ann Lang Aged 11 Nov 30 1824."

I love the verse that comes after this:

"Ann Lang is my name, and with my nee Ann Lang is my name and with my needlework the same, by this you may see the care my parents took of me."

There is a border all around.  Colors are navy, brick, and brown on ecru linen.
