This very pretty band box was probably made for use in a textiles store in the early 1800s.  It is wallpaper covered both inside and out.

On the top is  wallpaper printed in the center "Mohair Lustre".  This probably held this rare yarn for sale.

The sides are lovely shades of brick, federal blue, light blue and black.

The inside and bottom are covered in a larger print wallpaper.

Found in Vermont, made in the 1840s or so.  6" x 5" x 3 1/2".  Perfect size and condition.
