Beautifully and carefully stitched marking sampler by Caroline Wort who was only 9 years old when she made it.  Her mother must have helped her.

An intricate leaf border is all the way around the bound edges.

The verse says:  "Thrice happy is the youth who morning noon and night read the blessed page of the sacred truth and makes it her delight."

Caroline made a second border around her name and date, but it overlapped into each alphabet on the sides.  

Very good antique condition with fading and a couple of tiny holes.
