Exceptional hand carved hearth cricket on an old wood stand.

The cricket is 20th century, but the wood stand is early.

Very detailed cricket with long legs and detailed carving on his belly and legs.  

All wood with an iron pole which fits into the wood stand.

Hearth crickets are a sign of luck and good health and were found in many forms in early houses.

He stands 24" tall, 16" wide, 2 1/4" thick.  The wood stand is 5" square.
