From a Vermont collection, a queen bee lining box hand made and quite primitive.

It is carved out of one piece of wood with a glass window in the center.

There is a hole for entrance of the bee on one end

The queen was captured, the hole covered, and then she was released and followed to her hive.

This was so that beekeepers could find wild hives.
